Doesn't it seem like there's so much more time during the summer? With the kids back in school, time can become very precious, with fewer hours in the day for more responsibilities. Let us help you fuel your fall with a few time-saving tips, so you can do more of the things you enjoy.
Easy Short Cuts
With school back in, mornings around the house can become pretty crazy. In order to make things run smoothly, here are a couple of tips that should really help you out.
Encourage the kids to decide on and set out the next day's clothes the night before. That way any laundry issues or wardrobe demands can be dealt with fully and without stress.
Turn the morning lunch-making process into an "assembly line."
On Sunday, cut up a variety of veggies such as carrots, celery, and cucumber and store them in Ziploc® brand Containers, so that they're ready to go each morning. In the morning, line them up on the kitchen counter and have your kids choose the amounts they want. You can include a treat in the procession, but make sure it's a healthy one. Choice is a great way to make sure your kids are more likely to eat their meal and it gets them started on the path to making their own lunches.
While your kids are mixing and matching their lunch ingredients, you can be cutting up some veggies or meats for that night's dinner. You can simply cut them up, put them in a Ziploc® brand Zip ‘n Steam™ Microwave Steam Cooking Bag and throw them in the fridge. Then, when you get home, all you have to do is throw the Ziploc® brand Zip ‘n Steam™ Bag bag into the microwave.
Clean Efficiently
Another thing that can really take up valuable time is cleaning. If you want to free yourself up to have fun with your family, consider these tips to make the most of your cleaning time.
Get everyone involved!
If you want to spend quality time with your family, cleaning is a great way to do it. On a rainy weekend, rally the troops and assign some chores. Have fun with it! Put on some music and dance with mops. Cleaning doesn't have to be a drag and if your kids realize that earlier on, they'll be more inclined to help out in the future.
Use a chore chart to make cleaning easier.
This is a great way to divvy up household responsibilities and get everyone involved. You can outline weekly responsibilities by sorting chores by date and family member. For an online chore chart, go to www.cleanhomeliving.ca.
Use Multi Surface products to clean multiple surfaces.
To help you do a quick and easy clean, Pledge® Multi Surface Trigger and Wipes and the Pledge® Multi Surface Duster are great products that can clean and dust most of the surfaces in your house.
To ensure your room has the freshest air, consider a candle that not only releases a pleasant scent, but actually cleans the air around you. The New Oust™ Candle is uniquely designed to eliminate odours, not just mask them. The New Oust™ Candle also works great in the kitchen, eliminating those tough cooking odours.
Plan ahead!
When time is tight and you want to spend as much of it with your family, the best tool is forethought. Plan out the week ahead so you can be more efficient with your schedule and minimize surprises.
