Diane's Answer

Hi Diane,

My family and I love to go on picnics in the summer but we always find we get inundated with bugs. I worry that if I spray my family with insect repellent when we’re eating with our hands, it could be bad for us. Do you have any tips for protecting my family from mosquitoes without having to worry?

- Caroline, Brampton, ON

Dear Caroline,

I get that question a lot during the summer, and I’m glad I can answer it! What would summer be without picnics, but with the bugs in full force, enjoying your food can be tricky. Don’t worry, with a few simple tips, protecting yourself from mosquitoes AND enjoying your food can be easy!

First of all, don’t be afraid to use bug repellent. It’s a great way to protect your family from insects and if you use it correctly, you don’t have to worry about any health concerns.

Be sure you read the directions on the package. If you have any young children, make sure you are using a bug repellent that is approved for children. OFF!® familycare® Spray for Use on Kids is one product designed specifically for kids.

When you spray the repellent, make sure you do it away from any food and don’t get it in your mouth or eyes. After you’ve sprayed yourself, wash your hands properly.

These are just a few simple ways to help make sure that your family can enjoy the fun of a summer picnic without having to worry about the bugs! For more information on other OFF!® products, take a look at www.bugsmart.ca.

Sincerely,
Diane

Dear Diane,

My family has so many photos that we’ve collected over the years, but they’ve been doing the same thing all this time – taking up space on our mantle, side board and fridge. Do you have any fun ideas for making the most of our family photos?
